Tea Time

In light of becoming a DT member for Mini Books Anonymous, I decided to make a mini!! How quaint, wouldn't you say?? :)

I've had this idea in a my mind for a while. I have a friend who loves tea parties. So I wanted to make her an album for her tea party pictures. This is a small PBA album, not a lot of pages, but enough for a few fun pictures, I hope!! I tried to make it look sorta Victorian. I hope it shows, without being tacky. Now I said I had this idea in my mind...and this is true. However, it didn't turn out like I had in my mind!! *L* Don't you love when that happens?? Still I am happy with how it turned out!! I printed the images from the graphics fairy. Then I embellished them with stickles and/or glimmer mist. I went with the thought of starting at the beginning, writing the invites, the tags in that pocket are 3 little postcards. Then on to dressing for tea, the cute purse, to actually having tea, the tea cup and spoon, and the cameo of the lady drinking tea. I made the little *cameo* out of a Tim Holtz fragment. I cut out the picture I wanted in it and ran it face down through the xyron. Then pressed it onto the fragment. I like how they turn out when done that way!! All the images are on pop tape to make them more 3 dimensional. The paper is DCWV, The At Home Stack.
Here's the album:
Thanks for stopping by. I love to read your comments, so if you have time, please leave a line or too!!
Until Next time.........Tootles!!

More Paper Fun!!

Hello!! Thanks to everyone who tries to keep up with my blog. I don't have much to share this time. My mother had knee replacement surgery this week, and so my time has mostly been spent with her. However, I did manage a few things.
I was still fiddling with the idea of these little paper purses and so I made a couple more. They are fun, quick and easy for the most part!! Perfect when I felt the need to scrap but didn't have the proper time to do so!! These are the cutest ones I made.

I'm still stalking the gallery over at SplitCoastStampers. They have some amazing things there. Very talented paper artists!! This is a set of boxes/drawers that I got from there. I thought they were so cute!!

More containers found empty around the house, begging to be altered!! :)

Last but not least... A LO I did for a challenge over at Scrappy Jo's a couple weeks ago!! I just thought the LO we had to scrap lift was AWESOME!! I really like how mine turned out!! Everyone did a great job with the lift!! I'm always amazed at all the wonderful things that we each see in the same LO!! Anyway....Just thought I'd share this one!!

I guess that's pretty much it for this week. I'm hoping to find something really amazing to work on this week!! Any idea's for me?? I'd love to hear them!! You all have a FABULOUS week!!

Until next time....Tootles!!

Ahhh...What you can do with Paper!!

I was over looking in the gallery at Split Coast Stampers, and saw some awesome new things. Like this:

Isn't it darling?? It's a Tea Light Cake!! I can't believe I hadn't seen one before. Of course I had to try it myself. I think it turned out cute.

That got my creative juices flowing and I started searching for other things to do. I found a few. This tea pot and cup were templates I bought right off the bat. I didn't know there where lots of free templates out there. Anyway, I really like these a lot. It took some patience to get them finished, but for the first set, I think I did OK. They took a lot of paper. So I just 'inked' the inside of the tea cup instead of putting in the liner. Remember it was my first...a practice one , I told my dd!! *L*

The tea pot is from My Time Made Easy. The tea cup came from Waltzingmousestamps.com

This mug is awesome. I just think it's so cute!! I have no idea where I got it. My computer shut down the set of tabs I was in and when I got to the bottom of the pile this was opened as a PDF. If you know where it came from, please let me know, so I can give them credit.

Then I found Mel Stampz and she literately has over 150 purse templates. They are all so cute!! I tried my hand at a couple of them. I'm thinking of maybe putting gift cards in them for my sister for Christmas. She will flip over the tiny purses!!

Since I was making these 'cool' 3-d paper things, DD wanted to make something too. She came up with these all on her own. It only took her a dozen different tries to get them done!! She said she felt like T. Edison making the light bulb!! She's dying for me to post them so my friends can see how cute they are. So here they are:

Today when the mail came and I got a fabulous package from my friend, Debbie!! LOTS of awesome flowers, some gimp and some GORGEOUS lace, that I'm saving for something AMAZING. Have to keep reminding myself of that or I'll use it. *L* Also some darling little butterflies. I was dying to use some of my goodies, so I came up with this. I had saved a hat box pdf yesterday and couldn't wait to make it, but it was gonna take 6 pieces of matching cardstock, so I had to think up something else. I decided to make a HAT/box. Then when it was done I had to have a HATBOX for my Hat/box. Turned out pretty cute. It took me a bit to get the pattern right in my brain, but I'm proud to say it's all my creation. I made up the pattern, although I'm sure there is something like this out there. Thanks Deb for the gimp and the flowers!!

Well that's it for this time.
Until next time....tootles!!

Storage and Organization

I'm alway in search of next great thing I can use for easy storage. I have such a tiny house that every inch is accounted for!! I had been in search of a small embellies shelf. I happen to stop in at the salvation army one day and saw this cute little shelf. It was sitting on the rack still in the packaging. It was marked as $2.99!! I took it to the register, thinking it was marked wrong and they would tell me so, but it rang up for $2.99!! woo-hoo!! It is about 18 inches tall. It's perfect for all my little things I want to have close by!! Check it out:

In th sudio, we each have our own space. DD and I share a big table. She gets half, and I get half. DH has a little desk in front of the window, that he never uses for anything but piling up stuff he doesn't he want to put away. So I reclaimed it for scrappy stuff. I really wanted a place to put my lovely things that my friends have sent to me as gifts. Plus I could use it for storing more stuff!! He was sweet to let me have my way. He bought the shelf and put it together, and I love it!! Check it out:

More storage!! *L* I had bought these 3 metal canisters for like 75 cents or so here a couple of Christmas' ago. They are about 7 inches tall. I had lace and other embellies stashed in them on a shelf in the closet. I pulled them out and re-invented them!! I went with a cherry theme and added the little glass knobs I got at Joann's for $1 each. I think they turned out so cute!!

Then I had two chipboard round boxes that I wanted to spruce up. I fell in love with these peach roses in lace section at Hobby Lobby. And can you believe it...they were on clearance!! How lucky am I?? *L* So I got 2 yards and transformed my first container into what my DH says looks like a wedding cake!
As for the other chipboard container, I was painting the lid and laid it on the top of the trash can to dry. Well, not thinking we gathered up the trash and took it to the curb. The next day I was ready to work on my container and couldn't find the lid anywhere!! Then I realized what had happened and was so sad. So I had to be creative. Not my best quality. And came up with this: Not bad, huh??
For fun DD and I were altering stuff we could find around the house. I used an old hot coco can for my project!!

And last but not least today, and what really started me on re-inventing all the contaniers I could find, is a paint pail I altered for a very sweet lady over at SB.com!! We were to alter a pail and fill it with $10 worth of goodies. This is what it looked like: Vicki, I'm so happy you liked it!!

Well, that's it for now. Until next time....tootles!!
