7 Layer Bars

For Christmas I made my mom, both of my grandmothers, my mother in law and my sister an 8"x8" mini album documenting DD's yearly making of 7 Layer Bars!! All the albums used different papers but all from the Christmas DCWV stack. They are very plain, but I really liked the way they look!!
This is a bad pix of all of them before I mailed them:

This was the first page. The journaling says:
 The Story of
Vashti’s 7 Layer Bars
Every year since Vashti could stand on a chair next to me,
she has made 7 Layer Bars for Grams Christmas Party!
The past few years little has changed, except for the fact that she no longer needs to stand on a chair beside me.  She is very good cook and enjoys doing her part in making these Christmas Cookies!
Thank you, Vashti!

A Fun Scrappy Week!!

I'm very happy to say that I didn't make anything for the Arts Fair this week!! Woo-hoo!! So proud of me!! *LOL* I spent my scrappy time this week doing lay outs, the altered tin challenge and a couple Christmas cards.

I won't be sharing the Christmas cards in this post, but will try to remember to do so closer to Christmas!!

I actually had a made a cute little gingerbread man band-aid tin for the challenge, but as I was getting ready to upload it, I realized it had to have a butterfly on it, so I made another one, so I could still have an entry for the challenge. I forgot to post in the previous post that the lovely flower I used on the tin, is one I received in a swap, over at SB dot com. It was made by DKScrapper. Thanks Donna!! It is a lovely flower and perfect for this tin!!

I'm going to share just a couple of the LO's I did. I really need some new pictures, so I have something to make LO's with!! *L*
The first one I totally love!! It's of my little house, which I love!! *L* I love how it turned out and gave me the umph to make a few other LO's!!
This one is pretty simple, but I still like it!! Do we ever grow out of wanting to jump in a big pile of leaves??

And...as promised...my Mini Album for the MBA Design Team. It's a very small paper bag album and I made a little case for it. The theme for November was Sparkle and shine, so all of the solid papers are sparkly or shiny, as are all the embellishments. I was trying to go for an elegant look. I'm not sure if it's all that, but I did like the way it turned out!! Check it out:

That's it for this time!! I actually have2 questions for all those of you who have blogs...
1. Is there a way to get 2 pictures side by side in the same row??
2. How do I get a link to show just as a different color text that you click on to go to the site it's linked to??
If you have the answer that you can share with me, please email me or leave it here in the comments. Thanks tons to anyone willing to help me out!!

Until next time..........tootles!!

Gifts...From Me and To Me

I love to give gifts!! I love to see people smile!! When it's a surprise, it's even better!! I would love to be able to send everyone a gift, and have it arrive on a day that they are feeling lonely, sad or blue!! So.... I've been making a few gifts for some special people in my life!!
This is a little Coffee Album. I wanted to go with a vintage theme, but just couldn't seem to find graphics for it. However, a lot of these 50 type graphics came up on my search, so I decided to go Retro!! It was a new adventure for me, and defiantly out of my box, but I think it turned out simple but cute!! What do you think??

Another gift for a sweet friend. I was out about one day and saw this little saying and instantly thought of my friend. Poor thing is going through the hot flashes stage of life. I had a good laugh and wrote it down quick so as not to forget it, because I knew I wanted to use it in a fun gift for her!! I got the cowgirl image off the Internet. Printed it twice, cut out the cowgirl and put her on pop-tape on the other print out. Paper glassed the horseshoe, added some stickles to glam her up, add the rest of the embellies and wa-la!!

Another gift tin, re-invented!! And, yes, it's a gift for a friend!!

I have another friend that I wanted to make something special for. She is very sweet and is doing something wonderful for some other friends of mine. So I altered this little recipe box that I had gotten at Michael's for just .50 cents!! I love a good deal!! I hope she likes it!!

This was a gift to me. Not made by me!! Isn't it gorgeous?? Thank you so much Debbie, I absolutely LOVE it!! Really take a moment to look at this girls, lots of gorgeous details in this!!

Another gift!! Some friends of ours are moving to Dallas and clearing out there house. They gave me this great box full of cigar boxes!! LOVE them!! Thanks so much to Dave and Michelle for such a fun gift!! I totally see altering in my future!!

Last but not least...My good friend Val has a fabulous new website I think you should check out!! There is a DT call up right now, so hurry over there and email them your entry!! Val and Renee are super sweet girls and I know they're site will go far!! So be sure to check them out, here:

Well, I think that's it for now.

Thanks to everyone who left me comments!!
I love to know what you think and that I'm not here all alone!! *L*
So, if you have a moment, please say hi!!
Until next time.........Tootles!!

Tea Time

In light of becoming a DT member for Mini Books Anonymous, I decided to make a mini!! How quaint, wouldn't you say?? :)

I've had this idea in a my mind for a while. I have a friend who loves tea parties. So I wanted to make her an album for her tea party pictures. This is a small PBA album, not a lot of pages, but enough for a few fun pictures, I hope!! I tried to make it look sorta Victorian. I hope it shows, without being tacky. Now I said I had this idea in my mind...and this is true. However, it didn't turn out like I had in my mind!! *L* Don't you love when that happens?? Still I am happy with how it turned out!! I printed the images from the graphics fairy. Then I embellished them with stickles and/or glimmer mist. I went with the thought of starting at the beginning, writing the invites, the tags in that pocket are 3 little postcards. Then on to dressing for tea, the cute purse, to actually having tea, the tea cup and spoon, and the cameo of the lady drinking tea. I made the little *cameo* out of a Tim Holtz fragment. I cut out the picture I wanted in it and ran it face down through the xyron. Then pressed it onto the fragment. I like how they turn out when done that way!! All the images are on pop tape to make them more 3 dimensional. The paper is DCWV, The At Home Stack.
Here's the album:
Thanks for stopping by. I love to read your comments, so if you have time, please leave a line or too!!
Until Next time.........Tootles!!

Just Scrapping Away

I have had a great couple of days, doing what I love most...SCRAPPING!!
DD and I made 17 flowers yesterday!! They turned out so awesome!!
Friday I made some little mini albums!! The inside is made using just one sheet of 12x12 paper. Then I made a little cover for them and used scraps to make the inside tags!! I really like them. If you like them, I'm willing to sell the 2 little brown and yellow ones, the other is for a friend. They are $5 each and $1.50 for shipping. (the bottom pictures are the inside of the little blue book. If you would like to see the inside of the other two, please email me.)
And last but not least...My little table and book!! I saw this table idea on the Graphics Fairy's website. I thought it was so cute. I went right out and bought the stuff to make one. Well, it was a total disaster!! *L* After 2 times trying to make it work, I threw it away!! But, I still wanted to make it!! So....*L* I went to Hobby Lobby and got new stuff to try again!! This time it worked!! I think it turned out so cute. The little book on top of the table was DH's idea. What a good idea, huh?? It is another of the one sheet mini's. Since I live in a tiny house and have no place to put this, I am also willing to part with it. $15, free shipping. (You will need to attach the table top to the base. It will be much easier to ship in 2 pieces.) The base is Tim Holtz crackle paint and then sealed with mod podge. The top has been mod podged as well. I made the flower on the front of the mini. Any questions, please feel free to email me!!
So that's what I've been up to. Now I need a new project!! *LOL*
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I so enjoy your comments if you would be so kind as to say hi, that would be great!!
Until next time.....Tootles!!
BTW--I will also be willing to sell any of the embellies pictured in my previous blog entry. They are $2.50 each, $1.00 shipping. Or 2 for $5 and I'll take care of the shipping. I no longer have the pink one, but still have all the others!!

Last of the Secret Projects!!

A Mini Album

I was so honored when Scrap Smart...Susie...asked me to be her partner in a mini album swap over at SB.com!! We agreed to make them as surprises for each other. So I didn't post the album I made her in my gallery!! She was out of town for a few days and just got her album, so I can share it with you now!! I had a lot of fun making her this surprise album. It uses KaiserCraft papers, that I just thought was so pretty!! I had been saving it for the perfect album and this was it!! I'm so glad she liked it!!
Here it is:

I want to add that Susie made me the most beautiful album!! It was sorta funny because we bothe chose purple for the albums we made!! I love my album!! Try checking out Susie's gallery over at sb.com to see her beautiful work!! Thanks again, Susie!!

Until next time......Tootles!!

Scrapping and Creating!!

I know I say it all the time, but only because it's true...
I LOVE TO SCRAP!!
I have a wonderful new scrap subject!! A brand new great neice!! She looks so precious!! I can't wait to see her for myself. Until then, I have these great pictures to admire!! I've actually made 4 of these little accordian albums so far. One for Grandma, one for Great Aunt Lavine, and one for Great Grandma...plus this one. I just forgot to take pictures of all the other ones I've made, because I was in hurry to get them to them so they could show off the beautiful addition to our family!!

I still had more pictures of Nic's beautiful baby so, I decieded to be creative. I got a fab stationary box from Tammy Sue over at SB dot com, that had the BEST crackle paint on it!! So I was dying to try it!! I went to Michael's and picked up some Tim Holtz crackle paint, and a little oval wooden frame. . Tammy Sue has perfected the crackle, because mine looks nothing like hers!! *L* It didn't turn out quite the way I thought it should, but it is a very intresting effect!! You can't really see the cracks here because they are small!! I add lace, a few 'sticks' and a bird to finish it off.

This was made just for fun!! As you know I've been making these little roses. Well, I got a grand idea to put a lolly in the middle of the rose and put in a little arrangement. I thought it would be cute for a little fun gift or something. DD told me she wants to make one for one of her teachers for the end of the year!! That sounded cool!! So I see more of these in our future!!

Thank you so much Kima!!

I want everyone to see this awesome gift I got from my friend Kima!! Isn't it wonderful?? Thanks, darlin!! You all can check out Kima's new Etsy store here: www.Joakima.etsy.com
