A Fun Scrappy Week!!

I'm very happy to say that I didn't make anything for the Arts Fair this week!! Woo-hoo!! So proud of me!! *LOL* I spent my scrappy time this week doing lay outs, the altered tin challenge and a couple Christmas cards.

I won't be sharing the Christmas cards in this post, but will try to remember to do so closer to Christmas!!

I actually had a made a cute little gingerbread man band-aid tin for the challenge, but as I was getting ready to upload it, I realized it had to have a butterfly on it, so I made another one, so I could still have an entry for the challenge. I forgot to post in the previous post that the lovely flower I used on the tin, is one I received in a swap, over at SB dot com. It was made by DKScrapper. Thanks Donna!! It is a lovely flower and perfect for this tin!!

I'm going to share just a couple of the LO's I did. I really need some new pictures, so I have something to make LO's with!! *L*

The first one I totally love!! It's of my little house, which I love!! *L* I love how it turned out and gave me the umph to make a few other LO's!!

This one is pretty simple, but I still like it!! Do we ever grow out of wanting to jump in a big pile of leaves??

And...as promised...my Mini Album for the MBA Design Team. It's a very small paper bag album and I made a little case for it. The theme for November was Sparkle and shine, so all of the solid papers are sparkly or shiny, as are all the embellishments. I was trying to go for an elegant look. I'm not sure if it's all that, but I did like the way it turned out!! Check it out:

Altered Tin

Winding Down

I really do feel like I'm winding down making things for the Arts Fair!! I'm still waiting for Candy Canes to come out so I can do a couple things with them, but then, I plan to be pretty much done!! Finally!! I have no idea what I will post when I'm done with all this!! I suppose I'll have to think up something!! :)

This box is a heavy chipboard box that I actually bought chipboard in. I did a little re-cycling with this one!! I used scraps to cover the box. I added the string of beads, I got on clearance, made a flower with some more scraps, added some bling and some wooden beads for the little feet. I'm not sure I can sell this. It started out so ugly and I totally like it now!! Maybe I can keep it and give it as a gift!!

When I saw this on Life as Lou's Blog, (http://lifeaslou.blogsome.com/2008/01/30/magic-boxes-a-life-as-lou-online-class/) I had to make it. It was so much easier than it looked!! I may make another at some point because I think they are so neat!!

My favorite thing I've made this week!! Check these out!! Aren't they cute?? These are my Gift Card Holders for the Gift Cards to the movie store or theater!! I can't believe I came up with them!! Go me!!

Hello!!

Here I am again!! Back with a few more things for the Arts Fair. I truly am about finished making things for it. I have about 240 items made at this point. I do have a couple more things that I was planning to do, but I'm not feeling a rush to do them!! *L*

Here is a little mailbox I made. The mailbox was paper mache. DH cut a dowel for me for the post and I super glued it to a wooden base. Covered it in fake snow, added the holly and poinsettia at the base and I'm thinking I'm done!!

A year or two ago, I bought 2 packages of tea lights in glass holders for $2 bucks each box. So for $4 I got 12 candles/holders. Well, I came across them while looking for something the other day and thought...why not!! So I made little 2" boxes for them , added a bow and tag, and now I have little candle packages!!

These are Basic Grey punch out Bird boxes. I also found these the other day in my box of 'specialty' paper!! They are so cute!! I filled them with Hershey Kisses.

I also made another Hair Stylist Survival Kit. The girl who does my hair, loved hers and all the other girls are dying for one, so I thought I might be able to sell it!!

Last but not least....My DD and I went downtown Friday night for the Fall into the Arts, Art Walk. It was AWESOME!! So many amazing, talented artistes!! Our favorite, however, was the man doing Blown Glass. OH MY WORD!! AMAZING!! We were fascinated!! We watched him make the piece below. When he was finished he gave it to DD because she was so fascinated with the details of making it!! She wants to go to the art center and take a class. I want to, too!! *L*

This week...

It's finally fall, and I am totally loving it!! However, it's also been sort of a blue week for me. I have this annoying habit of always trying to figure things out and fix whatever needs fixed. Sometimes that's just not possible...then I have a bad habit of getting angry about it!! Anger really is not a good thing!! It does really not nice things to you!! So I am working on moving past these situations and getting past the anger. Not the easiest thing. Since I've done this a zillion times, you would think I would know better by now, or at least how to speed up the getting past it stage!! Anyway, all that to say, that I haven't accomplished much this week, and don't have much to share.

I did 2 layouts that turned out OK. I have done much better, but can live with these at the moment!! I didn't work on the apple pix at all!! But I really do want to!! So all I have to share are a few more things for the arts fair. Here they are:

This one was fun!! I added flock to the frame on the little lamb's head and the little swirls on its sides. Add some petaloo flowers to the corner, a red bow to her little head, added the post it notes and, Waa-laa!! Thanks Miss Kat!!

A Layout!!

I finally was able to sit down and create a layout!! It seems like I haven't done one in months!! I don't want to get behind with my pictures so I pushed myself to create this!! Not as elaborate as some, but sweet all the same!!

It's DD's first day of school. 8th grade!! How did she get to the 8th grade?? Mercy!!

Anyway, her theme for life at the moment is anything zebra print!! She's even trying to get us to let her redo her room in zebra!! NOT happening!! *LOL*

We did go apple picking this past week. It was WONDERFUL!! We picked Golden Delicious apples. They were huge!! I love them like that...less peeling for making Applesauce and Apple Crisp!! DD has eaten all the applesauce so I need to make some more....maybe tomorrow!!

I have plans to scrap the event this week. I have a bunch of stuff all gathered up for it, just need to do it!!

I also worked on some more things for the Arts Fair. Are you as tired of this as me?? *LOL* Anyway, here's what I did this past week:

These are so cute!! They were completely designed by my sweet friend, Miss Kat!! All I had to do was print them out, place them in an acrylic frame and add the post it notes!! I'm so loving them!! The cow is darling!! Thanks bunches Miss Kat!!
