I'm just not sure why this week seemed so long,

but it sure enough did!! I didn't seem to get

much of anything accomplished.

So....new plan for tomorrow.......

Only 3 new cards tonight.

First up is for Lollipop Crafts-

Use your favorite coloring medium.

Must say I'm not sure if this is my favorite

coloring medium, but is a new thing I tried,

and I do like it. It was using distress inks as watercolors.

I used a digi stamp from Karen's Doodles.

Distress ink, a fiskers butterfly punch,

MS leaf punch and a CM flower punch.

The paper is DCWV. Pearls are from my stash.

Stickles for the tiny centers of the blue flowers.

Next is for

Paper Pretties-card for a child.

and Dutch Dare-sparkle, glitter or bling.

A very simple card!!

The digi stamp is from Angie Walley.

The lollipops are stickled.

Hello!! The sun is shining and it's

a lovely day out today!! Go out and enjoy it!!

(after you read my blog, of course!! *lol*)

I have a few cards for a few

challenges to share with you.

First is for

Stamping 411-great sketch this week.

The paper is DCWV. The ribbon and trim

is from hobby Lobby.

The butterfly is K & Company.

The vine is a digi stamp from ?? I'm not sure.



Next is for

Stampin' Sisters in Christ- I just love their challenges.

Really makes you think. This card challenge

was a challenge for me. One layer cards.

EEK!! I used a coloring book image, then cut

it to the cross shape, ran it through the embosser,

 and inked the edges.

The bow really is purple. Not sure why it looks blue.

I used glossy accents on the flowers and bow.

This card will also be entered in the challenge at

Paper Cupcakes where the card needed

to be a shaped card with embossing.

Last up is for 3 places.

Card Patterns-great sketch!!

Crazy for Challenges-Use hearts somewhere.

I Did It-Bling it!!

The paper is DCWV. Used my cricut to cut

out the scalloped circle.

Bling is from Michael's. I inked the edges and the circle.

The image is a digi from Cuddly Buddly.

Ribbon is from my stash.

That's it for now. I have plans to work on more

challenges later today. My dd is sick so anyone who will

Challenges, again, challenges......

First up is for Pattie's Creations.

We were to recycle and use part of a

 store bought card in our project.

The background paper is from an old card.

I added the ovals and the the image from

Robyn's Fetish. I added the pink prima flowers,

MS leaves punch and popped out the bird to

make her 3-d then covered her in glossy accents.



This one is for

Inkspirations- they have a lovely sketch this week.

and for

Paper Cupcakes- Use their recipe of

3 flowers, lace or ribbon, pearls or gems

and 1 die cut.

The paper is DCWV. The flowers are a CM punch.

Pearls are from HL, as is the lace.

Both border punches are MS, as are the leaves.

I use my cricut for the scalloped circle and then

heat embossed the edge with lt. blue powder.

The bird is from paper cupcakes as well.

If there were no words..........

.....How would you tell someone that you love them??

This card is for the challenge over at

Stamping Sisters in Christ

Challenge: Make a card/project that uses no words on the front yet signifies love.

This is what the hostess, Miesje Flach, of this challenge wrote:

 

Scripture: 1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."

"It is easy to say, “I love you” to someone, especially someone you really do love with all your heart. Showing it is more difficult. Jesus tells us to love one another as He loves us. I believe that the verse today takes this a step further. I think it is a challenge to us Christians to show that love in everything we do and how we live our life (at least try to). It is wearing a happy face even when we have some troubles in our own life. It is helping someone we are not necessarily friends with. It is listening when we would rather be talking. “They will know we are Christians by our Love…….”. The “I love you words” can be said by rote, to anyone. The showing of that love in our everyday life is the challenge to all of us. So show us your love in a card or project."

Again this week, the challenge really spoke to me!!

I read this several times and I took a long look at myself

and those around me that I love. I tell them all the time that I love them,

that I thank God everyday for giving them to me, but what do I do that isn't words to show them I love them. Puts you on the spot doesn't it?? So, I took 2 index cards, (I write EVERYTHING on index cards) and wrote Tim on one, my husband, and Vashti, my daughter, on the other. Then I started writing things I think I do to show them I love them. When I was all down I did the hard part. I asked each of them, 'if there were no words, how would YOU know I love you??" I was happy to hear some of the things that I had written on my cards. But there were other things too. That made me even happier!!  Then I asked what things do you think we should be doing to show each other love without words. That was interesting too. We have made a pact to try to do more of those things everyday!! But we all agreed that we still want to be told that we are loved, and big hugs are always a great way to show love!!

I enjoyed this challenge...both the card part and the 'self check' part of the challenge.

Now I challenge you!! Why not take the time to ask yourself and your family how you show love without words. Then work on the the things that you think will show them even more!!

Remember to keep saying I Love You to those you love and the all important hug is a must!!

A couple cards for a couple challenges.

I want to come up with some catchy

blog titles, but seem to be struggling

with the whole idea, can you tell??

I'm here again with challenges.

For Stamping 411 and Pattie's Creations.

I used a digi stamp with the letters r.lrg on it,

not sure who that is, but want to give them credit!!

Used paper studio patterned paper, glossy accents on the jar,

and 2 little gems from Micheal's.



Used the sketch at Friday Mash Up,

and plaid for Crafty Catz.

The plaid is DCWV. I used a MS around the page punch.

A little bird and pearl from Michael's,

I made the flowers using a fiskers punch, my cricut

and flower punch from CM.

Using the sketch from Sweet Spot,

I created this card and will also use it for the challenge

at Crazy 4 Challenges and Die Cut Dreams.

The digi stamp is from Birds Cards.

I also used glossy accents. The little acrylic heart

is from MM. The metal slide is from my stash.

Actually looks much better irl!!

Snow Days!!

LOVE snow days!!

DD hardly ever gets them so when she had today off

we were super excited. But now they have cancelled tomorrow too,

and we are on cloud nine!! So happy!!

With so much snow, a whole foot,

and half the city shut down,

I'm not able to go anywhere, so

 I have all day to do nothing but scrap,

which I did, and LOVED it!!

1 Card for 2 challenges.

This is for Sweet Stop .

Great sketch, although I didn't do it justice!!

I am so happy to have found this site.

The challenge was based on Psalms 23.

We are to use blue and green, for the water and the pasture.

It was wonderful making a card and

thinking about Psalms 23.

 It was very uplifting and inspiring.
