Spring is here....

complete with rain every day!!
Have I ever mentioned how much
I despise rain?? Ugh!!
Of course you know I love snow,
but the one thing I like about spring
are the flowers!! My favorite flowers of
the year are daffodils and tulips!!
The tulips haven't bloomed yet,
but I am loving the little daffodils outside
my back door!! So pretty and sunshiny,
even during the rain!!

The theme this week at
Scrap Your Story is Spring.
I also used a sketch from:
Paper Secrets.
So here is my lo for the challenge:

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you have a wonderful, love filled week!!

Until next time.......................tootles!!

Sketchabilities

Hello everyone!!
I've been slow posting this month, I know!!
I just haven't been able to get
myself into the card challenges since
the Christmas break. I'm thinking of
only doing a few of my favorites
from time to time, but we'll see how that works out!!

I'm still really into doing layouts right now!!
I haven't found a lot of challenges for them, however.
If you know of any good ones, please pass
them on to me!! Thanks!!

This one is for Sketchabilities!! Great sketch.
I really enjoyed making this and the outcome
was even better than I expected!!
The papers are DCWV fresh florals.
I made the flowers.
The birdcage was cut on my cricut using SCAL.
The bird bling is prima.

I did this one for the 2 photo challenge
over at SB dot com. This one came out great!!
It's all mine...no sketch or anything!!
So proud of me!!
I used my grand calibur for the banner and fence.
The papers are DCWV trade winds and textures.
The embossed butterfly and key in the corners were
printed on the paper already.
I used a MS punch for the little butterflies, and
a fiskers butterfly punch for tiny ones on the fence.
I used a teeny, tiny flower punch for the flowers on the fence.

That's all for now.
Thanks bunches for stopping by!!
I hope you have a wonderful,
love filled week!!

Until next time...........tootles!!

May Flowers in April

I've been in the flower making mood
and have been trying all sorts of new
things to make and color my flower!!
Thanks to everyone who posts tutorials on
all their gorgeous flowers!! They are very
inspirational, and I love them!!

Loved this one. It was so pretty!!
Perfect for on top of a package!!
I made a few adjustments because I didn't
want it to be so large. Plus I added a little rose
to the center instead of a button.

Love these!! Hers are WAY better than mine,
but I still had fun making them!!

This one my dd calls my "lion" flower.
I made it with small white cupcake papers.
I used glimmer mist on it to make them orange/yellow.
I was surprised I liked how it turned out.
I have seen these before, but didn't follow
a tut on them.

This flower came from a tut I saw on someones blog.
I thought I saved the site, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere!!
If you are the artist or know the artist, please leave me a note
so that I can give proper credit!!
Dogwood.
These started out white. I mixed pink perfect pearls
with a little water and painted the flowers.
Drew in the lines and added the pearl center.
I like these!!

These flowers are my own. I cut them on the cricut,
or used punches that I have to create them.
They all started out white. I used watercolors to color them.
Loving watercolors. You can have soft and light or
bright and bold!! How awesome!!
After I painted them with the watercolors,
I painted them with a layer or two
of glossy accents.

I just made these last night!!
I cut them on the cricut, then painted them
with the watercolors. Then I inked the edges,
added the dimension lines and finished
up the centers with some store bought pearl like stamen.

I've made a few others, but just haven't taken pix of them all.
It's been fun trying new things!!
Using the watercolors has been a fun adventure.
I'm trying pansies next!!
Wish me luck!!

If you have a tut on your special handmade flower,
please leave me a link to your blog!!
I'd love to try it!!

I have a few new style cards I've been trying as well.
I will be posting them in the next couple days!!
I do hope you'll pop back in to have a look!!

Until next time....................tootles!!

Just Scrapping Away

I have had a great couple of days, doing what I love most...SCRAPPING!!
DD and I made 17 flowers yesterday!! They turned out so awesome!!
Friday I made some little mini albums!! The inside is made using just one sheet of 12x12 paper. Then I made a little cover for them and used scraps to make the inside tags!! I really like them. If you like them, I'm willing to sell the 2 little brown and yellow ones, the other is for a friend. They are $5 each and $1.50 for shipping. (the bottom pictures are the inside of the little blue book. If you would like to see the inside of the other two, please email me.)
And last but not least...My little table and book!! I saw this table idea on the Graphics Fairy's website. I thought it was so cute. I went right out and bought the stuff to make one. Well, it was a total disaster!! *L* After 2 times trying to make it work, I threw it away!! But, I still wanted to make it!! So....*L* I went to Hobby Lobby and got new stuff to try again!! This time it worked!! I think it turned out so cute. The little book on top of the table was DH's idea. What a good idea, huh?? It is another of the one sheet mini's. Since I live in a tiny house and have no place to put this, I am also willing to part with it. $15, free shipping. (You will need to attach the table top to the base. It will be much easier to ship in 2 pieces.) The base is Tim Holtz crackle paint and then sealed with mod podge. The top has been mod podged as well. I made the flower on the front of the mini. Any questions, please feel free to email me!!
So that's what I've been up to. Now I need a new project!! *LOL*
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I so enjoy your comments if you would be so kind as to say hi, that would be great!!
Until next time.....Tootles!!
BTW--I will also be willing to sell any of the embellies pictured in my previous blog entry. They are $2.50 each, $1.00 shipping. Or 2 for $5 and I'll take care of the shipping. I no longer have the pink one, but still have all the others!!

Vintage??

Hi again!! Welcome back!!

I'm so excited to share with you my latest adventure. Many may know that I have no idea how to do anything Vintage, yet I still want to!! So when I saw this hair tie at the dollar store, I just knew I could do something 'vintage' with it. *L* Isn't pretty?? I thought so.....for days, and days!!

But nothing was hitting home with me. But after a couple of days I was bored and went to Joann's to look for another project. I like to look in the remnant bin for lace or trim ends, but that day I found this crushed green silky material. I thought, now this could be vintage!! I don't get ah-ha moments often, so work with me!! :) So I bought it, brought it home, put it on my work table, and yep...that's right I looked at it...and the cameo for awhile. Then in a rare event, 2 in one week, I had another ah-ha moment. I could totally see what it was going to look like and believe it or not...it was VINTAGE. (I think)

I started by pulling out my bling and pearls. I had to spice up the old girl. So I pried off the hair thingy and add the bling and pearls to just the right places. Then I took my green silky fabric and cut a circle and sewed it in to a yo-yo. Added the cameo to the middle and Waahhhh-lalalalala:

After that, I got a bit creative...well, creative for me!! These are the ones I made after my original ah-ha moments!! What do you think?? They are a bit time consuming but I really like how they turned out!!

So that's what I've been up to the past few days. How about you?? Made anything exciting lately?? Have you stepped outside of your box?? That's something I don't do too often!! Please let me know if you think these are vintage. If not.....I guess I'll keep these and forget vintage again for awhile!! :)

Until next time........tootles!!

Secret Projects

I'm so excited about the secret projects I've been working on!! This first one is the one I made for my DD while whe was gone on her end of school trip!! I was so lucky to be get this MM embellishment box from Crop Chocolate for just $12.99. So happy about that!! DD was needing a jewlry box, and this was perfect!! This is what it started out looking like...a.k.a. Before:

DD is REALLY intrested in the Ocean and especially Jellyfish and Squid. She even wants to be an Oceanoligest. So I decided that was the theme I was going with for her jewelry box. Here's what I came up with...A.K.A. After:

She loved it and has all her jewelry put in there now!! Organization at last!! :)

Next on my list of Secret Projects was a gift for my sweet friend Kima!! I so wanted to send her a surprise and make her day!! She has been just so sweet to me and I wanted to repay her kindness in some way. So I made her this little tin filled with homemade flowers, a butterfly, plus a little tin of prima flowers!! She just got it, so now I can share it here:

This is a sample of some of the flowers I sent her:
(I'm really into making flowers at the moment!!)

I have one more secret project to share, but since she hasn't received it yet, I will have to wait a few more days before I can post it!!

Thanks again for stopping by!!
Until next time....tootles!!

Fun Projects

Hello!! Thanks again to everyone who still keeps up with me!!
Just few quick things to show you!!
First, following up from the last post, is the Lollypop Rose Bouquet for DD's favorite teacher. She was named ACSI Teacher of the Year!! Mrs. Hiscock teaches math, so we used paper that was covered with numbers. We thought it turned out cute!!
Next would be a project DD chose for the two of us to do. She chose what to make along with the embellishments, and wanted us to make them matching. It was cute!! So this is our creations:
(mine is on the right, DD's is on the left)
Last but not least, a layout I did for a scraplifting challange over at Scrappy Jo's!! This was so much fun to create!! The pictures are of the baby birds that were born in the tree outside our kitchen window. They grew up so fast and the last picture (on the right) is one of the little birds after he flew out of the nest. He looked so scared!!
The GORGEOUS organza flower was a created by my friend Kima. Thank you so much honey!! It was PERFECT for this layout!! Kima has a fabulous Etsy site where you can buy some of her awesome flowers. Check her out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/joakima

Well, that's it for now. I'm working on a secret project for DD. I hope to finish it up by the end of the week. If it turns out nice, I'll post it for you to see!! *L*
Until next time....tootles!!

Flowers and Such!!

Everyone has been making such fabulous paper flowers!! My friend Kima makes some of the best!! You can check out her fab creations on her blog spot, found here: http://kimaskreations.blogspot.com/
I was super inspired by her gorgeous flowers, and decied to try some pretty roses for myself!! She told me about this great way to keep them from getting smashed too!! It's an awesome plan!! Here's a picture of my flowers. Quite different from Kima's, but I really like them...maybe because it took me making a dozen that didn't look like flowers to achive these!! Yes, they are a work in progress!! *L*
My flowers:

I had so much fun making the flowers, that I had to find some way to use them!!
Next week is Teacher Appriciation Week. Our school is celebrating by doing something special for the teachers everyday. Monday is 'bring your teacher thier favorite candy day.'
So we bought the candy and 'fancied' it up!!

2 Hershey Bars, 1 Extra Bubble Gum and 1 package of Starburst!!

That's it for now. I want to do a give away in the near future. Just need to see if anyone really comes here!! *LOL* Thanks for stopping by!! Until next time...Tootles!!
